The Manufacturing Network at Rensselaer offers class and project support for students, faculty, and industrial sponsored class projects using a variety of fabrication and production services and expertise. The Network is part of a larger Manufactruigng@Rensselaer effort supporting manufacturing research.

Rensselaer Robotics

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will be a founding member of the 14th Manufacturing USA institute – the Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Innovation Hub. The Department of Defense (DoD) will provide $80 million in federal funding to launch the ARM Institute, led by Carnegie Mellon University, to stimulate robotics technology development in manufacturing environments. The investment will be matched by a $173 million contribution pledged by the winning coalition, comprised of more than 220 partners, including industry, universities, community colleges, nonprofit organizations, and state and local governments from across the country. Outside the Rensselaer network

The network reaches outside of Rensselaer’s School of Engineering as well. The Director of Manufacturing Innovation maintains various contacts with outside fabricators and vendors for processes not available on campus should the need arise for assistance in these areas.
